Ingredients
1 ¾ cups sugar
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup cocoa powder
4 eggs
1 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅓ tsp salt
½ cup walnuts, thickly chopped
Preparation
Preheat the oven at 180ºC. Cover a loaf pan (28cm) with baking paper. In a small pan, melt the butter over low heat. In a medium-sized bowl, mix sugar and cocoa powder.
Add the melted butter and stir. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs. Add them gradually in the butter mix, whisking non-stop. Pour in the vanilla extract and stir again. Add the flour and salt, then stir till the mix is smooth. Then, add the walnuts.
Pour the batter into the pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the batter isn’t sticking to the pan. Test it with a toothpick (if it comes out clean, it’s ready). Take it out of the oven and let it cool before serving.
