Acquiring the necessary certifications is a prerequisite in proving the quality of our products and the foundation of our consumers’ trust in the Wellnuts family.
Correct agricultural practices as well as integrated pest management in our walnut orchard are annually certified according to GLOBAL GAP standards (GGN 4063651619072).
Post-harvest procedures (drying process, sorting of size and quality, packaging and storage) take place in a privately owned authorized walnut processing and packaging unit that complies with food traceability, safety and hygiene standards.
Nutritional declarations are based on real samples and not simply on scientific references. The edible part of inshell walnuts (kernels) is tested for compliance to all chemical pesticide substances by a certified, globally acknowledged laboratory. In addition, all products are tested for microbes and aflatoxins.
UNECE international commercial guidelines are used for the categorization of our inshell walnuts and kernels into classes according to quality and size.
The nutritional analysis and labels of our products are tested by an expert food technologist regarding the safety of the products and the soundness/legitimacy of the information provided.
Our company, assuming its corporate responsibility, is partaking in the Collective Systems of Alternative Management (CSAM), launched by the Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation (HERRCO). Our participation in the CSAM can be denoted by the “green” sign GREEN DOT on the labels of all the Wellnuts packaged products, which informs the consumers that the producer is actively contributing to the cost of recovery and recycling.
